Sprues from the New 1/48 Trumpeter Mig-21F-13/J-7 Fishbed

This is the all new 1/48 Trumpeter Mig 21F-13 model kits. Chances are that like myself, you knew little to nothing about this release. Well, here I present you the sprue pictures of this new kit. Let me stretch that this is no review, personally I find in-box-reviews as useless as Aquaman in a super heroes emergency.  Back in April 2011, I posted my sentiments towards the Academy Mig 21PF. Although the Academy has nice surface detail, the cockpit leaves a lot to be desired in terms of detail. This kit comes in a rather small yet dense box. Kudos to Trumpeter Models for protecting the clear parts as they did with this kit.

Upon opening this kit last night, I eagerly went thru the sprues looking for the cockpit parts. How will those parts go together is yet to be known, but the detail is very good and a far cry from the Academy Mig 21. Enjoy the pictures and look for a build review soon.

PS,

I have this project in mind of creating a fleet of Castro’s Migs. I had contacted the folks over at Aztec Models but I haven’t heard from them. Paypal seems reluctant to complete my order of Castro’s Migs decals. If any of you out there knows where I can get those decals besides Aztec Models, please drop me a line in the comments section below.

    1. Gordon,
Thanks so much for the heads up and the link. I’ll be placing my order during the day today. Have a nice weekend.

  1. The extra clear part hints another future variations from Trumpeter ;o)
