Green Strawberry Star Wars Service Ramp and Hangar Crew

Took a while but it is finally here shown built. This is the 1/72 scale HANGAR EQUIPMENT VOL. II SERVICE RAMP from Green Strawberry set 05718-1/72. The set is a combination of 2 photo etched frets and 7 resin parts. Some sanding is required preferably on a flat surface to achieve an even finish. The resin parts are very clean. However, due to the nature of these shapes, some cleaning is required preferably with a fresh #11 exacto blade.

I must confess that I messed it up slightly in a spot here and there, but luckily I always keep round styrene rods in many sizes from Evergreen and made a couple of ”wedges” with them. No Evergreen round shapes on your workbench? No problem, you can get away with pieces of sprue in case you slightly mess it too. As with any resin parts, don’t forget to wear a mask and do so in a well-ventilated area.

I don’t know where the folks at Green Strawberry got their references, but the service ramp looks to me very screen accurate. This ramp is featured in Star Wars, A NEW HOPE, EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and bear with me please -it’s been a long week-, I believe they also appear on Star Wars, ROGUE ONE. On Empire, this is where Chewbacca leans when the blast doors in HOTH are shut down due to the upcoming storm and his loyal friend Han Solo and Luke are still out in the wild.

This is a small and humble work in progress diorama featuring a Partisan 1/72 X-Wing Fighter from Bandai. The sets from Green Strawberry were originally announced on our Instagram account upon arrival to our studio.

The small dio features the Hangar Deck (DP 01) as a base.

The figures you see on the pictures below are the HANGAR CREW Vol. III set 72003. They most definitely are a nice addition to the Star Wars Bandai fans. I must add that this volume also includes a neat 1/72 Gonk Droid not shown on the pictures below.

Last but not least is the HANGAR EQUIPMENT Vol. III featuring 4 types of hangar hardware. For this, I made a small silicone mold and made a few extra copies to populate the hangar a little bit more. Other projects featuring Green Strawberry products will be posted in the not so distant future. For that, I suggest following us and Green Strawberry on social media and get to know announcements in real time. GS offers these and many options more for your next Star Wars diorama needs. So make sure you pay them a visit.
